As Amy Schumer is actively shooting scenes for her new movie in Boston, another made in Massachusetts movie may be in the works.

According to Fox 25 News, Melissa McCarthy is working on a movie that will be set in 1970's Boston. Fox 25 says the movie will be based on the true story of Dorchester's Alexandra Lydon. Lydon was the first woman to join the Boston Police force. This is not the first time McCarthy has played a Boston cop. She was cast as a Boston detective in the 2013 comedy "The Heat" with Sandra Bullock.

No word yet on how much of the movie will actually be filmed here in Massachusetts, however the Bay State is on a roll when it comes to entertainment production. Showtime has launched a Boston based crime drama starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, while Amy Schumer's movie will continue filming on Tremont Street in Boston.
