It was an exotic surprise at the Fun Studios when our friends at Buttonwood Park showed up with their mascot, Rosie the Lizard. Rosie is a 4-foot-long reptile that was found walking down the road in Falmouth. Zoo keepers believe that she was released by a family after she got too big to be a pet. As an avid animal lover, Loren Petisce was thrilled to meet Rosie and we captured her reaction on video.

FYI: Buttonwood Park Zoo is always hosting events and fun family nights for the community. On Friday, August 14th, Zoo Night is open to the public from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Zoo members will be able to get into the park for free and it will cost non-members $8 for adults and $4 for children. There will be special outdoor activities at night and the Outdoor Discovery School will be there from L.L. Bean. The Summer Café Menu will be available and there will be a S’mores special. So come out and enjoy a night packed with fun at New Bedford’s Buttonwood Park Zoo!
