‘Mean Girls’ Actor Writes Open Letter To “Damian” Thanking Him For Being Gay
Daniel Franzese, best known for his role as Damian in Mean Girls, is now thanking him for being “Too gay to function,” but he says that it really is only okay when Janis says it.
Ten years later and Franzese tells Entertainment Weekly that people still come up to him on the street thanking him (meaning Damian) for having such a positive influence on them living their lives as a gay man and that Damian has been such a big part of their coming out process. He said that it was hard for him to still be in the closet with the public when he had strangers thanking him for being himself.
“My family and friends all knew the truth, but now it’s time everyone does,” said Franzese. To read Franzese entire letter to Damian click here:
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of “Mean Girls”, which is one of my all-time favorite movies.
