Massachusetts Named Smartest State

A new poll has ranked Massachusetts as the smartest state in the country.

Massachusetts came in with the top spot on a new Zippia.com poll of the smartest states in the U.S.

Zippia used results from the latest U.S. Census and did some math to determine

the percentage of adults (over 25) with at least a college degree and the percentage of current high school dropouts (aged 16-19.)"

With that info in hand here's how the top 10 smartest states rounded out...

2. Vermont
3. Virginia
4. New Hampshire
5. Connecticut
6. New Jersey
7. Minnesota
8. Maryland

10. California

Louisiana and Mississippi were tied at the bottom of the list with Nevada and Oklahoma not far behind.
