Martha’s Vineyard Man Charged With Abusing Baby

A grand jury on Martha's Vineyard has indicted a 19-year-old man on charges he abused his infant daughter.  Shaun Sicsico is accused of assault and battery on a child with substantial injury.   

According to The Vineyard Gazette, Sicsico told police he spun the child, but may have spun her too hard.   The baby was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital in July with injuries doctors believe are consistent with abuse.   A police report said the child suffered severe brain injuries.

Sicsico is currently being held in a Martha's Vineyard jail on $50,000 cash bail.
