Man With Hand Grenades Enters Downtown Police Station [UPDATE]

A source close to the scene confirms for WBSM News a man entered the downtown police station with two hand grenades.

Update 8:00pm - Our source confirms that the man brought the grenades to the police station, but left them in his vehicle outside of the police station. Traffic was being directed around the area, and an explosives team was called in from nearby Rhode Island.

The incident caused the police station to be temporarily shutdown and evacuated, as well as the surrounding area.

Just after 6pm Monday, police blocked off a section of Pleasant St as a precaution.
