Man Turns Himself In After Attempted Robbery In New Bedford

33-year-old Robert Norte was arrested yesterday by New Bedford police for armed assault with intent to rob.  Norte attempted to hold up the 7-Eleven store on Cove Road early Tuesday morning.   He walked into the store and told the clerk he had a gun.  When the clerk went into the back room, Norte took-off without any cash. 

About 2 hours later, Norte went to Dartmouth and robbed the Bliss Corner Gas Express on Dartmouth Street.   He did show a gun and took an amount of cash.

Norte turned himself into police yesterday.
