Man Sentenced For Raynham Robbery
A man will serve three to five years in prison following his conviction for an armed robbery in Raynham.
Gregg Miliote, the Director of Communications for the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, announced on Wednesday that 42-year-old Christopher Rideout pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to charges of armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny and malicious destruction of property over $250.
Rideout entered a Gulf Station at 1023 Broadway St. in Raynham at around 3 a.m. on March 24 where he waived a knife at the clerk and demanded all the money in the register.
Miliote says Rideout ripped the entire register out when the clerk didn't move fast enough and fled the store.
A customer was able to get a partial plate number of the car the defendant drove away in, which was described as driving a gold or tan Nissan.
Using that information Raynham Police eventually were lead to the home of Rideout's sister in North Attleboro.
She identifed Rideout on surveillance video of the robbery told police that he called her to ask her if he could stay.
Rideout was then arrested on April 1.
