A Weymouth man is facing murder charges following a stabbing and crash in Norton.

Gregg Miliote, a spokesman with the Bristol County District Attorney's Office says at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday a 911 call was made to Norton Police about a woman being stabbed.

Police and fire personnel arrived at the apartment at 2 Holmes St. and located the victim, identified as 34-year-old Julie Meede inside.

Meede was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro where she was later pronounced dead.

Shortly after the original 911 call Massachusetts State Police responded to a two car crash on Route 495 in Norton just south of the Route 123 interchange.

State Police say a preliminary investigation determined that a Dodge Ram pickup traveling on Route 495 southbound crossed the grass median and entered the northbound side of the highway, where it collided with a Nissan.

The Nissan's driver, identified as a 30-year-old Smithfield, RI woman, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was identified as 35-year-old Martin McDonald of Weymouth.

Miliote says McDonald is the estranged husband of the stabbing victim Julie Meede and he was arrested and charged with Murder.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Attleboro District Court.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
