Man Charged In Case Of Missing Massachusetts Girl

The 17-year-old girl from Medfield, Mass went missing since Monday, but was found "safe and unharmed" on Thursday in Coventry, Rhode Island.   She had been last seen leaving the Medfield Library with an unidentified man.

Police arrested 30-year-old Stephen Audrey of Springfield, Missouri.   He made an appearance in U.S. District Court in Providence on Friday, and was charged with transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal activity.   The prosecutor told the judge that Audrey has a criminal history of prior sex offenses.

A Coventry man spotted Audrey and the girl walking along the side of a road on Thursday and called police.   Homeland Security became involved and searched the Super 8  Motel in West Greenwich where the two were staying.    Stephen Audrey is now being held in jail.   The charges against him carry a mandatory 10 years to life in prison.
