Southcoast Health which runs Charlton Memorial, St. Luke's and Tobey Hospitals, will be laying of 95 employees today.

According to The Herald News, with a 6% increase in spending and the $30 million loss the company experienced in 2014, Charlton's president Keith Hovan delivered the news to employees in a letter today.

Hovan says, "Today's actions are the continuation of necessary steps in order to stabilize expenses in line with our positive revenue growth."

He goes on to say that the layoffs are systemwide and they will work hard to place these employees into other positions within Southcoast Health.
