Major Accident Closes Hathaway Road

Police closed down a section of Hathaway Road in Dartmouth this evening to investigate after a major accident.

The Dartmouth police Facebook page warned drivers to seek alternate routes when traveling on Hathaway Road tonight (Saturday December 19th) and at the time of this post, the section between Slocum Road and Route 6 was still shut down.

Although the police have not yet released any details on the crash, one resident who lives near the crash site believed five people were transported to local hospitals after the accident.

Allegedly the crash was between two vehicles and one of them was stolen. The driver and passenger in the alleged stolen vehicle were ejected.

The other vehicle was a family with two young kids, who were all reportedly okay.
