A weird situation for a New Bedford letter carrier on Wednesday.  He noticed a woman following closely behind him, and had no idea who she was or what she wanted.

In order to get her to stop following him, he skipped by the house where she lives on Holly Street and delivered mail until she walked away.   He then returned to her house to deliver two packages.

According to New Bedford police, that's when 34-year-old Bobbie-Jo Cunningham began screaming at the mail carrier, and also threw a few punches.  He was not hurt.

Cunningham was not arrested, but will likely be summoned on a simple assault charge.  The woman said she was waiting for the two packages to be delivered to her home.
