On Tuesday, Marathon Ventures, Inc. announced that it will recall various retail and bulk packages containing raw macadamia nuts because the product may be contaminated with salmonella.

According to ABC 6, “the recalled products were sold between July 2, 2015 and February 3, 2016, through grocery, food service, other retail outlets, and direct mail orders via company website nationwide.”

Brands that will be recalled include Market Pantry, Western Family, Shurfine, Pear’s Gourmet, Cash-Wa Distributing, Nutpro CC, and HyVee.

The problem was brought to the attention of the company by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, following a positive product found that was traced to be salmonella during routine product sampling.

There have been no illnesses reported to-date so far with the products.

Consumers who purchased the items, which can be found here are advised not to consume this product and should return it to the store of purchase for a full refund or replacement.
