Loren Meets Her Idol, Bret “The Hitman” Hart
Last night, a life-long dream came true for me. I got to meet my childhood idol, Bret "The Hitman" Hart!
I have never been more excited about anything in my life ever before than I was meeting Bret Hart! I have been a huge fan since I was 10 years old, and had always dreamed of meeting him! Last night, my dream finally became a reality!
I got the the Police Athletic League Hall in Fall River last night at exactly 5pm. The line was already very long with other fans waiting excitedly to meet 'The Hitman'. I stood in line, clutching my ticket, waiting patiently. The ring announcer for the show is a friend of mine, so I texted him to tell him I had arrived and asked if Bret had arrived yet. He told me that Bret's flight was delayed, so he was running late.
We were let inside the building around 545pm. I exchanged my ticket for a pink band and a green ticket that meant I got an autograph from Bret, a photo with him and a front row seat to the show. Then I stood in line and waited, and waited.
I looked around and most of the crowd surrounding me were men or parents with young kids. I kind of felt like an out of place weirdo being a woman in my 30's waiting to meet a retired wrestler, but I didn't care, my dream was coming true!!
Finally at 619pm, I got a text from my friend Guy, the ring announcer, saying "He's here." I responded to that with "Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!" Finally, it was happening!!!
Before I knew it, I was next in line. Then I was led into a room behind a curtain. There was Bret sitting in a chair, some other crew members and a cameraman from The Herald News.
I walked over to Bret, and as I went to speak, I couldn't! I just started crying! Through tears, I said "I've been a huge fan of yours since I was 10 years old! I'm sorry for crying!" He just smiled and said thank you. He then asked me my name and signed the photos that I had with me. We posed for a few pictures and he was very nice. I kept crying though, it was ridiculous, I couldn't stop!!
Finally, it was my husband's turn next. He was much more calm than I was. I looked at Bret and said "This is my husband Matt, he's not as crazy as I am." Then the camera man from the Herald News asked if he could get my reaction on camera. I said sure, but that I was so embarrassed because I was crying! He turned on his camera and said "Loren, how was it meeting Mr. Hart?" Check out my reaction to his question here:
