Local Seventeen Year Old Opens Her Own Business

At the age of 17, what were you doing? I know that I was concerned with college applications and getting to my part-time job. Karina deSousa is doing all of that and more.

Karina deSousa is a 17 year-old Senior at Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech studying fashion and design. When Karina was younger, she didn't just play with her Barbie Dolls, she designed outfits for them. And thus began her career as a fashion designer.  When Karina discussed life after graduation with her parents, she expressed her dream of opening a clothing store. Being supportive (and impulsive)  Parents, Isabel and Joe deSousa supported their daughter's dream by helping her make it come true.

What will Karina's Haven feature? Different selections than chain clothing stores. Very uniquely designed fashions for men, women and even plus sizes. Karina's Haven will also include accessories, including jewelry, handbags & shoes.
