Several local boys have made the USA Dek Hockey Team and are heading to Slovakia to represent their country...and you can help them get there!

Jon and Josh Pacheco of Somerset, Zachary Massa of Fall River and Cole LaForce have been selected to play on the U14,  U16 and U20 USA Dek Hockey Teams, representing our country in the Junior World Championships in Nitra, Slovakia this summer.

But getting there is quite the cost and they're looking for the public's help in making the trip.

USA Dek Hockey is a ball hockey league played on a plastic rink instead of an ice rink. There are teams for youths and adults and making the team to represent the USA in international competition is no joke.

The boys have been playing for years locally and have been part of many award winning teams. Now they've all earned respective spots on the various USA teams.

The trip to Slovakia requires plane tickets, lodging and tournament fees covered by each player...so for the two Pacheco boys that adds up fast.

They've almost reached their family's GoFundMe goal of $6,000, but could use a little more help in ensuring that they get to play this summer in Slovakia.

If you can help put them over the top know that donations are also tax deductible.

The teams are all nonprofit organizations and you can also make donations to the league in general by visiting their website.
