The Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford is hosting a free Town Hall discussion this Wednesday night for all who are interested in attending.

Physicians To Prevent Opioid Abuse is a local group of doctors who are making it their mission to do everything they can to help prevent the abuse of opioids by patients under the care of a physician.

Their goal, quoted on their Facebook page, is simple... "Our goal with PPOA is to help curb abuse and overdoses not to stop providing appropriate pain management which can include opioid pain medications. We need to have these discussions to provide the best and safest care."

Join them this Wednesday night June 22nd at 6:30pm for a FREE Community Town Hall to discuss the opioid issue facing our community at The Z on Purchase Street in downtown New Bedford.

You will not only hear from doctors and nurses on the subject but also family members of victims who have lost their battle with addiction and drugs, who first became addicted to the opioids prescribed by their doctor. There is a definite stigma associated with opioids, drugs and addiction that needs to be uncovered.  This is an open forum where everyone is welcome.

Please don't let pride or denial prevent you from attending this gathering.  It could possibly save the life of someone you love or perhaps even your own life.
