FAIRHAVEN - The Fairhaven Fire and EMS Department has received a donation that will help save the lives of the town's furry friends.

Through WBSM and Fun 107's Southcoast Lemonade Day, Charlotte Roy and Kamiree Henicke raised money for "CK's Luki Pets Project" with the funds from their lemonade sales. The funds they raised were matched by Moriarty's Invisible Fence Company, allowing them to purchase six prepackaged oxygen kits for animals.

The kits are used for resuscitation efforts on pets, and are especially useful during a fire when pets are overcome by smoke inhalation. The kits operate in the same way as oxygen masks, and allow rescuers to properly provide life-saving oxygen to animals in an emergency.

The kits were donated on Monday by Henicke and Roy.
