We hear she was a killer in the kitchen (and a few other rooms in the house). The Fall River Historial Society posted a recipe from the accused and acquitted murderer yesterday, labeled "Lizzie's Meatloaf".

If you're looking to try a recipe that's sure to die for, here's what you'll need:

  •  1 lb. steak,
  • ½ lb. pork steak,
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 soda crackers,
  • herbs, salt, and pepper
  • greased pan
The directions then say to cover the loaf well with hot water and bake for an hour.  [with modern technology, you can probably just set the oven to 375 and bake for an hour]
The directions are written by Mrs. Brigham who had been  a close friend to both Lizzie and Emma Borden. Post trial, Mrs. Brigham distanced herself from Lizzie but remained close with Emma.
This recipe and other pertinent items are part of the Brigham Collection that make up a large part of the Borden Collection at the Fall River Historical Society. See photo of recipe here.
