WAREHAM — On Wednesday morning at about 6:45 a.m., members of the Wareham Police Detective division arrested a level 3 sex offender.

Ronald Franklin, Jr. 58, of East Wareham, was arrested for failing to provide an address change as a sex offender.

Detectives discovered that Mr. Franklin was living at the Silver Lake Motel, in a different room then he registered under. He was brought to the Wareham Police station for processing and was arraigned at Wareham District Court later that morning.

Acting Police Chief John Walcek said, “Although Mr. Franklin only moved two rooms away, he failed to report that, and our detectives took immediate action when they obtained this information.” He further added, “Protecting our most vulnerable populations includes strict enforcement of individuals who do not register properly as sex offenders."
