FALL RIVER — Jasiel Correia II's lead defense lawyer has resigned from his case.

The Herald News reports that Mark Berthiaume filed notice with the court on Tuesday that he and the law firm of Greenberg Traurig have withdrawn as Correia's counsel of record.

No reason for Berthiaume's withdrawal was provided.

Kevin Reddington, also an attorney for Correia, remains a representative of the Fall River mayor, who was indicted on charges of wire and tax fraud earlier this year.

Correia's case is scheduled to return to federal court on Thursday.

The Herald News also reports that Correia's listed address is now his parents' address. Correia was evicted from his Bank Street home after his arrest in October.
