After remaining understandably mum following the death of her boyfriend and 'Glee' co-star Cory Monteith, actress and singer Lea Michele has finally broken her silence via Twitter.

The missive and accompanying personal photo marks the first time the grieving Michele has mentioned Monteith in public since he died of an accidental drug overdose on July 13.

Not long after his passing, her rep issued a statement thanking fans for their kind wishes, and adding, "Lea has been grieving alongside [Cory's] family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together."

Monteith has since been cremated in a private ceremony.

Michele and 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy recently organized a memorial that allowed the show's cast and crew to mourn Monteith together. Currently, an on-air tribute is planned for Cory during the third episode of the dramedy's new season, which begins Sept. 26.

“We’ll have to do it in a way where the cast members will not have to re-create feelings of grief that they’ve had,” explained Murphy. “If we can do this responsibly and help young people through these feelings, that’s the best that we can hope for.”
