Eight-year-old Layla dropped the ceremonial first puck during Hockey Fights Cancer night

The Boston Bruins squared up against the Vancouver Canucks in a wild 6-3 victory last night in TD Garden. The victory, however, is overshadowed by Fall River's own Layla Flint, who dropped the ceremonial first puck before the game last night.

The eight-year-old Flint was celebrated before the game as part of NHL's Hokey Fights Cancer night. In January of 2016, Layla was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She has had a tough battle but is in remission and has her final round of treatment scheduled for February 2018.

Layla's bravery is an inspiration to the Southcoast community.
