Good news potty mouths! Swearing is actually good for you!

And of course violent video games were used for this study...

According to the recent study, reported by the Daily Mail, the British researchers found that when participants watched aggressive video games, they were able to recall 8 swear words, rather than the average of 7 when participants did not watch the video game.

Senior lecturer, Dr. Richard Stevens, aggressive video games create more emotional responses from players and thus resulted in the players using more emotional language.

"We want to use more taboo words when we are emotional. We grow up learning what these words are and using these words while we are emotional can help us feel stronger," said Dr. Stephens.

Going along with the whole "swearing as a good thing" idea, another study has been conducted that proves that swearing helps people deal with pain. Participants in this study stuck their hands in ice cold water and it was proven that those who swore during it, were able to keep their hands subdued 40 seconds longer than the ones who didn't.

Now I definitely won't be subduing my hand in ice cold water, but the next time I get a paper cut, I'll be sure to swear nice and loud!
