Kasey Does a Weird Thing with Pennies

According to the National Day Calendar, Wednesday, May 23 is 'National Lucky Penny Day.'

"See a penny, pick it up, and all day long you’ll have good luck." I'm pretty sure everyone has heard this phrase at least some point in their lives. I truly believed in this magic as a kid, and I was determined to help nudge lady luck in my own way. Some may call it cheating, but I thought me leaving pennies heads up for people to find was a small gesture of kindness.

Do I still pick up pennies now? Yes. Do I still leave pennies on the ground all over town? Also, yes. Sure, the person behind me in line at Dunkin might not have a clue why I'm doing it and probably thinks I'm crazy, but if they were smart they'd pick up that coin and wait to see what happens. It just might be their lucky day!
