Day 8 - The Super Soaker

Lonnie Johnson came up with the idea for the Super Soaker while he was doing work with the U.S. Air Force. It was originally called the "Power Drencher." After some tweaking it was renamed the "Super Soaker," and generated $200 million in sales in 1991.

Johnson also came up with the idea to replace water with a soft projectile, creating toy Nerf guns. The Super Soaker though, has ranked among the world's top-20 best-selling toys every year since it's original release.
