JC Penney Is Closing Dozens Of Stores

Retailer JC Penney says 4 percent of their stores will be closing before 2015 is over. Find out which local chains won't be lasting much longer.

I guess JC Penney's plans to revamp their brand didn't go according to plan, because stores in two nearby malls are going to be closing.

Before the year is over the JC Penney at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton and the one inside the Providence Place Mall will be gone.

Neither location has said what, if anything, will be taking the department stores place at their respective malls.

In total, JC Penney will close 40 stores nationwide, putting 2,250 people out of work. Most stores are expected to close around April 4th.
