A Fall River teen who got placed on the Massachusetts State Police's Most Wanted List has been ordered held without bail during his arraignment on Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court.

Gregg Miliote, Director of Communications for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, says 16-year-old Jayden Smith was arraigned on a multi-count indictment charging him with murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and possession of a loaded illegal firearm in connection with the July 11 murder of 29-year-old Jerrod Cohen.

Smith was located hiding in a bedroom at the home of a friend at 448 E. Main St. in Fall River and arrested shortly before midnight Monday by members of the Fall River Police Department, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the District Attorney's office, and the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.

A friend of Smith's, identified only as a 16-year-old Fall River resident, was also arrested on a charge of being an accessory to murder after the fact, he was set to be arraigned in Fall River Juvenile Court Tuesday afternoon.

Miliote says that due to the friend's status as a juvenile not charged with murder, further information about him can't be released.

Smith was being sought by police since Cohen was shot to death outside his home at 129 Plain St. in Fall River.

Following the shooting, Smith was ranked #1 on the Fall River Police Department's Most Wanted List before being added to Massachusetts State Police's Most Wanted List.

He is due back in Fall River Superior Court on Dec. 13 for a pretrial hearing.
