It is official. A guy who grew up in Andover, Massachusetts is being replaced by a guy who played the world's biggest Red Sox fan. Jay Leno has announced that he is leaving "The Tonight Show" next Spring. He will be replaced by Jimmy Fallon. Leno replaced Johnny Carson in 1992, so when he leaves the show next year, it will be after a 22 year run (not counting the whole Conan O'Brien fiasco). When Fallon replaces Leno, the show will move from the West Coast to New York City.

There's no word on who will replace Fallon in his 12:30am time slot.

"I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow -- Jimmy Fallon

The two of them recently did this West Side Story-esque duet together.
