It's not just the bride who wants to look their best on wedding day.

I'm not going to lie to anyone. I'm worried. I've got a wedding creeping up in seven months. Obviously, when I look back on this day in the future, I don't want to look back at an unhealthy version of me. I want to be at my best that day and start my future with my bride-to-be on a good note.

Right now, the only thing creeping up other than my wedding date is my weight.

The heaviest I've ever been was a year or so ago when I was around 232 pounds. Today I hopped on the scale and 226.5 was looking me in the face. Not too far off from the worst. Just for reference, I usually like hanging around the 190 pound range.

Today, I decided it's time. Time to get back on the straight and narrow. I used to be so focused on my fitness and being healthy while still enjoying life. Now I've just been all about beer, burgers, pizza and just about anything fried. Not good.

So here we are. Today is Day One. Hopefully, keeping a regular blog or journal or whatever of my progress will keep me honest and on track. I mean, I can't put all this out there and fail! That'd be embarrassing! The goal is to try and get back as close to 190 pounds as possible in seven months. That's about 36 pounds by June. And I don't want to just shed weight; I want to work on an overall better level of fitness.

To kick things off, today I started a program I've done before and many of you know called P90X. Last time I did it, I dropped 30 pounds in three months and was in the best shape of my life. Today was a BRUTAL first day of that again.

So here we are. Feel free to join in with me! I'd love to hear from you and hear about your progress as well. Let's do it all together!

If you want to reach out and share ideas and progress shoot me an email and let's get it going. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and we can do it.

By the time I get married we're ALL going to look super duper sexy. As I said, my goal is to drop about 35-40 pounds (ambitious, I know). What are your goals?

Let the games begin!
