Regardless of how much this super storm impacts us, it's always better to be over-prepared than caught off guard.  We are being told there is a good chance that we will experience very high winds for many hours.   Today is the day you might want to do a couple of things that will prepare you in the event of a loss of power.   First, fill your car's gas tank.  No power means no gas stations will be open.   Make sure you are set with your prescription meds as well.   Today is also the day toclear your deck and yard of things that could become airborne.  If you have a small boat or canoe in your yard, the experts say to fill them with water to prevent 'em from blowing away.   And of course, check the flashlights battery operated lanterns.   Remember, using candles for light during a blackout is very dangerous.   Good luck and please stay safe.
