A law enforcement official has said that he sent the video of Ray Rice punching his then fiance to an NFL executive five months ago.

The NFL is denying to Fox News that they laid eyes on the video until the world saw it on Monday.  The officer played a 12 second voicemail for the Associated Press from an NFL office number on April 9, 2014 of a female voice confirming the videos arrival. She is heard saying "You're right. It's terrible".

The law enforcement official said he was unauthorized to release the video but shared it anyway because he wanted the NFL to have it before deciding on Rice's punishment. The league said they have never received the video until TMZ released the video on Monday.

We assumed that there was a video. We asked for video. But we were never granted that opportunity.  --Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner

The officer said he sent a DVD copy of the security camera video to an NFL office and included his contact information but still does not want to release his name for fear that the NFL executive would identify him as the source.

Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Rice for two games once the incident was leaked. It wasn't until TMZ released the video that they suspended him indefinitely.

"We assumed that there was a video. We asked for video. But we were never granted that opportunity," Goodell said. Goodell said the NFL asked law enforcement for the video, but not the casino where the domestic violence occurred. Nobody in 9 billion dollar organization thought it would be a good idea to contact the casino? No one? Either the NFL's "investigation" was laughable...or someone is lying.
