The Sakonnet River bridge was closed to traffic this afternoon after an inspection truck tipped over while two workers were still inside.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation tweeted out about the accident just after 2 p.m., reporting it as a crash that closed all lanes of travel.

NBC 10 had more details, saying the inspection truck, called a "snoop," had tipped on its side while two workers were still inside the bucket.

Police had closed traffic on the bridge on both sides and no injuries were immediately reported.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority says there is a cage around the bucket the workers are in to prevent them from falling out.

No word on how exactly the truck tipped in the first place.
