It's that time of year again and most of us are busy making up Christmas lists - lists on lists, at that!  But with the help of the United Way of Greater New Bedford and their partner agencies, we were able to find a few families who could really use some  help with their holiday wish list.

This year, we've got seven families who have been nominated through the United Way's Holiday Wishes Program. Combined, those families include 17 kids, ages 2 months to 20 years old; 5 moms and 3 dads- all stopping at nothing to make sure their kids have the best life possible.

Last year our donors came from the most unexpected places, making Holiday Wishes the best program we could have hoped for!  Here are a few ways people pitched in last year and great ideas to get your colleagues involved this year!

  • Top Shelf Bar & Grill staff pitched in and donated their tips from one night of dining and then the owner matched their donation for a whopping $3,000 donation!
  • The HIM Department staff at Southcoast pooled some money together and were able to donate hundreds in gift cards for one of the families.
  • Captain Hogan and the crew of F/V Ranger took a collection and donated $500 towards one of the families

The donation list just goes on and on and we hope that this year it's even longer!  Planning on organizing a donation drive- let us know!  Want to help out this very instant?  Text WISH to 313131 now!

If you need to be hit right in the feels today - here's one of our recipients from last year's Holiday Wishes program. You all helped to pay for a bike her family thought was never possible!
