Cats are usually calm and cool creatures, but in the rare case that your cat is a little tense have them listen to some Beethoven.

A new study finds that classical music can soothe cats and help them relax.

The study, done at the University of Lisbon in Portugal, found that classical music put the kitties in the most relaxed state. Pop music followed making the second biggest impact.

These findings may actually help cats before they go to the doctors or if they need surgery. Play some Symphony No. 3 to your feline and they may require less anesthesia, because of their carefree state. With less anesthesia it reduces the risk of harmful side effects that your cat may experience after a procedure or visit to the vet.
