From kindergarten through their senior year, kids spend a lot of time at school.  So, giving them the most nutritious meals is important.

Unfortunately, the United States is not at the top of the list when it comes to providing the most healthy and balanced meals for school kids.  While parents have a lot of control when it comes to breakfast and dinner, unless they are packing a lunch for their child, parents don't have complete control of what's for lunch during the school week.

Thankfully, in 2010 the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act was passed, which mandated healthier school lunches...but even still, the United States just doesn't come close, when compared to what other countries are offering their students for lunch.  Take a look at this list compiled by Sweetgreen to see how the U.S. does against other parts of the world...it's sad and well, to be honest, embarrassing.
