I hate seeing things like this before the holidays. A house fire on Hill Street caused traffic delays in the West end of New Bedford Monday afternoon.

Heading home, you could see the smoke from the Fairhaven/New Bedford Bridge, and since I couldn't get through the Downtown Octupus area, I parked my car and decided to shoot some video.

According to WBSM News, the two story house at 56 Hill Street had a fire start in the basement and then it moved its way up through the roof. Thankfully, 3 residents have made it out safely.

All I could think about were the families that might lose their home. I couldn't imagine being removed from where we lived because of a fire. Make sure you check your home, and see if you have fire extinguishers or any fire preventive tools to ensure your family is safe and sound.

Check out the video below.
