WBSM and Fun107 parent company TownSquare Media has awarded their "Hometown Hero" award to a Fairhaven emergency responder.

Joshua Benoit was nominated by his mother as a firefighter and paramedic who was called to two scenes in 2013, where he attempted to save the lives of his uncle and his brother. Joshua's mother says despite the tragic losses, "he kept himself so glued together and helped other people carry on with their lives because of his strong medical skills and desires to keep helping."

As part of the 2014 "Hometown Hero" award, Joshua received an official plaque from Chadwick's Awards, a luncheon and $300 gift card at The Pasta House, and a $300 gift card to Wareham Crossing.
