Kilted Men 18 and over are asked to come to the King’s Stage at 4pm for this treat of testosterone! No Kilt? No problem, we’ve got a category for you. At 4 pm on Saturday, September 30th, men 18+ will line up on stage and be rated for their bare chests and legs at the King Richard's Faire. The 'Highland Hunks, Men in Kilts: Clash of the Tartans' event is sure to please many a fair maiden.

Pre-registration is not required, contestants merely need to line up at the stage shortly before judging begins, and show proof of age.

Prizes will be awarded in three categories:

1. Best Kilt

"The kilt is a knee-length non-bifurcated skirt-type garment with pleats at the rear, originating in the traditional dress of men and boys in the Scottish Highlands of the 16th century. Although the kilt is most often worn on formal occasions and at Highland games and sports events, it has also been adapted as an item of fashionable informal male clothing in recent years, returning to its roots as an everyday garment.

Until the middle of the nineteenth century, the highland tartans were only associated with either regions or districts. This was because like other materials, tartan designs were produced by local weavers for local tastes and would usually only use the natural dyes available in that area."

2. Most Muscular

3. Best representation of Tartan colors

Winners in each category will receive a pair of complimentary tickets to King Richard’s Faire for another weekend, a blue ribbon, and a surprise at the end! 1 winner will be invited to accompany the King and his royal court onto the Royal Dais for the 5pm joust.
