September isn't only Back-to-School month, its also Attendance Awareness Month. This year, Fall River's new Superintendent Matthew Malone is inviting the Fall River community to rally behind their students and help improve the city's attendance.

On the first day of school, Wednesday, September 7th, rain or shine, Malone is inviting representatives from across the city to assemble outside of one of Fall River's elementary schools just twenty minute prior to the school day starting.

He hopes to create a 'gauntlet of caring adults at each school' to cheer on, offer words of encouragement and high-five more than 5,400 elementary youth who are starting their 2016-2017 school year.  Don't quite understand what that looks like?  Watch this :10 clip below!

This open invite extends to firefighters, police officers, nurses, lawyers, bankers, business workers, (all encouraged to wear their work outfits).  Help Fall River celebrate the importance of every student by volunteering just 20 minutes of your time.

Want to help out?   E-RSVP to Christian McCloskey at cmccloskey@fallriverma.org by August 26th.  Be sure to answer these two questions:

1.  Will you participate as an individual or with representatives from your agency/organization?
2.   If as an agency/organization, approximately how many volunteers will be there?

On September 1st, you'll be emailed the details surrounding your very special role, so get ready!
