The Herald News is investigating an incident involving an "inappropriate note that was left by a delivery person Wednesday morning in several subscribers' newspapers."

Allegedly "Tammy" is asking for a $5 tip for delivering the paper to subscribers homes and is threatening to suspend services if she does not receive the compensation by Sunday.

Herald News commented on their Facebook page, "this person is employed by an independent contractor and we are working with that contractor to rectify the situation. We are very sorry for any confusion and frustration this has caused. If you are a subscriber and have questions, we can be reached at news@heraldnews.com."
