Actress Robin Wright spoke Tuesday at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York and said that she wanted equal pay for her role on "House of Cards."

On the show, House of Cards, Wright's character Claire is just as powerful and ruthless as Spacey’s Frank and the two characters are very much equal. Along with acting, Wright is also a producer and director on the Emmy-winning series.

Wright told ABC News “I was like, 'I want to be paid the same as Kevin,’"

She said "I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwood's character was more popular than [Frank's] for a period of time. So I capitalized on it. I was like, 'You better pay me or I’m going to go public.’" She added, "And they did."

I imagine it must be very frustrating for any woman who does the exact same job as a man and may even have more responsibility than a male co-worker and they make less money because of their gender.  I for one, would also fight for what I know I deserve.
