Okay look, I don't know about you, but I was always a little upset when I would walk up to someones house on Halloween night and every single light would be on and nobody was home! I'm telling you, that's exactly how you get a few eggs or toilet paper on your property for Halloween. If you aren't home, should you leave all your lights on or not? I know, in years past, front outside lights are on if you expect or want trick or treaters at your door. If not, your house should be dark on the outside.

No lights on what-so-ever. Its not rude, even if your home. People will understand to not to come up to your door if your outside lights are off - just common sense, I think. What do u feel on the subject?
