Funny.  Last time I mentioned sharks in this area, I got comments on Facebook like, "Wow. sharks in the water? How rare." This is why people. This is why. There has been a shark attack, you guessed it, in the water.

According to NECN, a great white shark attacked two kayakers off the Plymouth coast Wednesday evening at Manomet Point. How close did it get? Well, apparently the shark came up from beneath the two women and took a bite out of one of their kayaks, according to the Plymouth Harbormaster.

Neither of the women kayaking was injured in the attack thankfully. The bite mark left on the kayak is believed to be that of a great white, considering the size. The shark is estimated to be 14 to 16 feet long.

Authorities say this is the second great white shark sighting of the day in the area, after a woman reported seeing one attack a seal around 1pm, Wednesday afternoon.

I'm sure one of the women said, "You know people have seen sharks in these waters." "Well, duh, it's the ocean."
