If you're not making a nice commercial with animals, looks like you can't make it at all.

GoDaddy .com's upcoming Super Bowl ad was leaked, and the company immediately heard the uproar.

The Huffington Post says that in the commercial named "Journey Home", a golden retriever puppy named Buddy bounced out of the back of a truck, and went on a long adventure before arriving at a red barn.

A blonde woman at the barn then says, "Buddy! I'm so glad you made it home! Because I just sold you on this website I made with GoDaddy."

The puppy is then put in a box and thrown in a van driven by Danica Patrick. When the van door shuts, the blonde woman yells, "Ship him out."

After it was put on the web, a number of animal rights groups were outraged at the domain name company's attempt at humor.

Stephan Baldwin, the president and CEO of the Animal Cruelty Task Force in Ohio said, "Every year animals are euthanized across America, over 7 million each year because lifetime commitments are seen as disposable commodities, able to be bought, traded and sold like an X Box."

As usual, groups like PETA spoke out against the commercial too. More than 35,000 people signed an online petition for GoDaddy to pull the Super Bowl ad, and GoDaddy did.

In a statement, GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving said, "At the end of the day, our purpose at GoDaddy is to help small businesses around the world build a successful online presence. We hoped our ad would increase awareness of that cause. However, we underestimated the emotional response. And we heard that loud and clear."

If you haven't seen the original video yet, good luck. GoDaddy made the ad private on YouTube.

Since then, the company made an alternate commercial featuring race car driver Danica Patrick and the little puppy. In it, Patrick talks about adopting and helping homeless animals.

The best part of this story? After the two-day shoot, the puppy was adopted by one of GoDaddy's longtime employees.
