You may have to find a new place to get your vitamins. GNC announced they will be closing hundreds of stores nationwide.

Dozens of retail chains have been announcing closures and bankruptcies in the last few years and now you can add GNC to that growing list.

The company says they will close around 200 stores in the U.S and Canada by the end of the year and site declining sales and the reason for the closures.

Of course there is no word on exactly which locations will be getting axed, but there are plenty to choose from here on the Southcoast.

There are are actually seven GNC stores in our area.

Riverside Landing in New Bedford, Fairhaven Commons in Fairhaven, in the North Dartmouth Mall, the new Fall River Shopping Center, inside the Swansea Mall, Wareham Crossing in Wareham and Cranberry Plaza in East Wareham.

You have to believe at least one of these locations will be on the closure list.

GNC says they are still trying to work out lease agreements and relocation opportunities before they can announce which stores (and which employees) will be affected by the nationwide closures.
