If you're interested in the strange and unusual, the ghostly and the ghastly, then you need to make plans to be in Middleboro this Saturday.

The first-ever Middleborough ParaCon is coming Saturday to the Town Hall parking lot, located at 10 Nickerson Ave. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to attend, and is designed to help raise awareness for the town's restoration efforts for the Oliver House, which has been featured on TV's Paranormal Lockdown.

There will be vendor tables, live bands, a beer garden and food available to purchase. Inside will be a series of lectures throughout the day, highlighting some of the best-known names on the New England and national paranormal scenes, discussing a variety of weird topics.

The lectures will kick off at 10:30 a.m., with John Brightman discussing "The Bridgewater Triangle." At 11:30, RISEUP founder Ken DeCosta will present "History and Hauntings: The Ties That Bind." At 12:30, Marc Arvilla of the Mass Ghost Hunters Paranormal Society will talk for the first time publicly about his "Sessions with Ed Warren." Then it's a double-shot of Spooky Southcoast for you, as I'll be presenting "Ghosts of the SouthCoast" at 1:30, followed by Stephanie Burke teaching you to "Awaken Your Intuition" at 2:30.

Later on that night, Nick Groff--star of Paranormal Lockdown and formerly of Ghost Adventures--will be holding one of his Nick Groff Tour events at The Oliver House, Oliver Mill Park, the Town Hall and the Philander Washburn House. The VIP ghost hunt event is already sold out, but there are still plenty of tickets available for a Meet & Greet with Nick at the Town Hall during the day, at the same site as the ParaCon.

Tickets to the Nick Groff Tour Meet & Greet are $30 and must be pre-purchased through his website. Every ticket purchased also includes an autographed 8x10 of Nick. Also hanging out with Nick will be his Paranormal Lockdown co-star Katrina Weidman, as well as Elizabeth Saint, star of the just-renewed series Ghost of Shepherdstown. Both Katrina and Elizabeth will also have photos for sale. Again, you can only meet Nick, Katrina and Elizabeth with a purchase of a Meet & Greet ticket, which must be purchased in advanced here.

However, the rest of the Middleborough ParaCon, including the lecture series, is totally free to attend.

Hope to see you all there for a spooktacular time!
