This Saturday on October 5th at 3pm, the South Coast Business Alliance brings Oktoberfest to New Bedford at the New Bedford Ferry Terminal Building at State Pier.

I love Oktoberfest because of the tremendous amount of seasonal brews and food. It's such a great way to welcome in Fall. There's nothing better than walking around and enjoying live music and drinking and eating!

This year, the SCBA brings local music favorite Craig Demelo, "The Whiskey Poet" that'll kick off the performances at 6pm, and headlining this year is the Felix Brown Band, who has playing all over the Northeast and beyond. If you like rock, blues, R&B, jazz, and funk, you'll like what you hear.

Something new to New Bedford Oktoberfest is the mechanical bull ride. Now, I don't want to come off as a rookie rider, so my wife and I decided to stop by Baggers Party Rentals, and try out the bull ourselves.

You think you can do better? Than enter the bull riding competition at New Bedford Oktoberfest that I'll be MC'ing!

Tickets are just $15 online, and you can also get them at Rose Alley, Mirasol's, and at No Problemo. Don't wait til' Saturday, because tickets are $20 at the door.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the SCBA UMass Dartmouth Alumni Fund, so celebrate Oktoberfest in New Bedford!
