Fall River's next mayor, Jasiel Correia, is just 23 years old.  We thought it would be fun to make a list of things that highlight just how remarkable this achievement is at such a young age.

  • The internet is a tool that in modern times we have come to rely on, but it is crazy to think that the new Mayor of Fall River has never seen a world without the world wide web.
  • Correia was born in 1991, the year that the Cold War finally ended. Mayor-elect Correia never lived through the anti-communist fever and the strong effects of the Cold War on the U.S. He never knew a world with the Berlin Wall.
  • E-Mail was invented in 1971, 20 years before Jasiel Correia was born.
  • The first smartphone was introduced in Correia's birth year, although they didn't develop into Blackberry's until 2001.
  • When Corriea was just 8, DVD players became available to the public for an affordable price.
  • Jasiel Corriea never knew a world without the Simpsons, which first premiered in 1989.
  • He never knew a world where a gallon of gas was under a dollar.
  • Fall River's Mayor-elect was only one when Bill Clinton was elected president.
  • In 1991, the cost of a 30 second Superbowl ad was $800,000, today, it costs 4.4 million dollars.
  • Correia never knew a world without Bon Jovi or Jurassic Park.
  • Fall River's Mayor-elect didn't need to live through the Milli Vanilli scandal!  When they were stripped of their Grammy in 1990...he wasn't yet born.

These facts really showcase how much the Mayor-elect has accomplished is such a short period of time.  Fun 107 wishes Jasiel Correia congratulations for his big win.  Quite an accomplishment at any age!
